This house is all about location. It is situated on the South-West side of the Isle of Wight, above the beautiful bays of Brook and Compton, with views which are quite spectacular, from the white cliffs of Freshwater Bay to the dinosaur- rich cliffs of Atherfield. The house stands alone, surrounded by farmland, and the drive to the house leads directly down to the sea which is less than 5 minutes walk. The house is built in a traditional country cottage style and was a former bakery. It still has a bread oven in one of the rooms.
Location
The house stands in the middle of Dunsbury Farm which is a working farm in Brook. It is approx. 15 minutes drive from Yarmouth, which links to Lymington in the New Forest by Wightlink ferry.
Accommodation
The house has 4 double bedrooms on the first floor, one with a double bed and ensuite shower room, one with a king-size double with additional child sized single bed in room, one with twin beds and 1 with a bunk bed and a single truckle bed. There is a family bathroom on the first floor with bath and shower above. On the ground floor there is an additional double bedroom with one single bed and a truckle bed and ensuite shower room.
The sitting room has a lovely open fireplace and cosy seating for 12 on 2 sofas and scattered armchairs. There are games and books for evenings in front of the fire. The kitchen is well equipped with Cath Kidston touches and features a 2 door gas Aga. The kitchen leads onto the dining room which has an open fire, and bread oven. Seating for 12 is around an antique-style pine table on a terracotta tiled floor. There is a downstairs cloakroom with plenty of hanging space for country coats and a hot cupboard which is perfect for drying wetsuits and swimming costumes as you come in straight from the beach. There is a separate games room ideal for storing body-boards and wetsuits.
The garden has a fabulous south facing terrace in front of the house which is perfectly placed to enjoy the evening sunsets over the white cliffs. There is outdoor furniture and seating for 12.
Additional Information
